Rågsved is known for Ebba Grön, shootings and car fires. But there is other things there, too. The sheep are back in the Kräppladalen, you cannot but rejoice!
Our southern suburb is considered a problem area, but in many ways that is an undeserved bad reputation. Of course there is a lot of bad things, but there is also a lot that’s good. For example, more and more opportunities for young – and old! – for spontaneous activities.
One of us has returned to the treadmill again, work in the big city. But in spite of everything there are some pleasant things in that. The opportunity to take a lunch walk in a pretty park for example.
The end of summer means fermented herring, at least among us traditionalists in Sweden. We got our dose out in the little cottage, together with John and Britt, Urban and Anette. A really nice evening with tranquil rain.
Mixade potatisen. Tillsatte kryddor och andra smakämnen. Blandade det hela. Skickade in det i maskinen. Och skapade själva korvarna. Såg till att de fick rätt längd. De blev rätt goda! We have a capable food machine that we have not fully tested yet. Now we took one more step and made our own sausage. Ground the meat. Wet the sausage skin. Mixed the potatoes. Added spices and other flavors. Mixed it all. Submitted it to the machine. Created the sausages themselves. Made sure they got the correct length. They turned out quite delicious!
Lite motion behövs alltid, liksom lite kultur bildning.
Some exercise is always needed, as is some cultural education. We try to combine the two by geocaching, this time in Bollstabruk. The first stop was Edsrundan, a walkway around the little lake (we did not make the whole track this time). Next, we moved to the old blast furnace, built in the 18th century. And finally there was the old saw frame next to the Kejsarstaden, where one of us got to climb a little again.
We tried to find some yellow chanterelles and after a good time of searching, we actually found a place where they had come up. A place we had known previously, but now completely changed because there had been some lumber felling close by. The view had become much better because of it, how the mushrooms there will manage is another issue.
Urban found a nice boat at Blocket and decided to buy it. The only problem was that its homeport was south of Stockholm, some 550 kilometers (270 nautical miles) from Kramfors. That’s not a distance you drive all by yourself in a completely new and unknown boat (maybe not in an old and wellknown boat of this size either) so he asked some happy sailors if they wanted to come along. Sigge, Roger and Tomas said yes to the adventure that took over a weekend to complete, starting with a train ride down to Stockholm.
