Lockne Byafest 2016/Lockne Village Feast 2016

Så var det dags igen för Lockne Byafest. Som vanligt utgick vi från Rogers och Maggans hemställe, där det blev både gott grillat och avancerade skyttetävlingar. (Blygsamheten förbjuder skribenten att tala om vem som vann… det ska dock noteras att två av tre tävlingar var barnanpassade.)

Senare for vi till Lockne där det redan var fullt med folk och god stämning. Lugnviks-pöjka, Andreas Strindlund och Daniel Sjöholm, spelade och det blev stundtals riktigt mycket folk på dansgolvet. Kvällen (d v s natten, klockan hann bli två sådär), avlutades med ett kolossalt åskväder med ett ösregn som går till historien. Häftigt var det – särskilt att Rogers och Maggans husvagn håller tätt även under sådana förhållanden. Vi kommer nog inte att kunna låta bli att delta nästa år igen!

So, time again for Lockne village party. As usual, our starting point was Roger’s and Maggan’s homestead, where we had good BBQ and advanced shooting competitions. (Modesty forbids the writer to talk about who won … although it should be noted that two of the three competitions were suitable for kids.)

Later we went to Lockne where there already were a crowd of people and a high spirit. The duo Lugnviks-pöjka, Andreas Strindlund and Daniel Sjöholm, played and at times there was quite a lot of people on the dance floor. The evening (i.e. night, around two or so), concluded with a colossal thunderstorm with a pouring rain to be remembered for the history books. It was awesome – especially that Roger’s and Maggan’s caravan stayed dry even under such conditions. We probably wont be able to refrain from participating again next year!

Nya husdjur/New pets

Under dagens morgonrunda i huset upptäckte vi nya gäster nere i ”källaren”. Tre fina kamrater och vi har inte en aning om hur de har tagit sig dit. Eller varför. Nu är de ute i friheten igen.

During today’s morning round in the house we discovered new guests down in the ”basement”. Three fine fellows and we do not have a clue about how they have made it there. Or why. Now they are out there in freedom again.

Vyer inom stadsgränsen/Views within town borders

Geocachandet för det goda med sig att man hamnar på nya (åtminstone för en del av oss) ställen som är värda att se. Så vackra utsikter inom stadens gränser – det är inte alla förunnat! Tre cachar blev det under denna svettiga fyratimmarspromenad. Bra för kroppen – och kanske för själen med.

Geocaching brings the advantage that you end up on the new (at least for some of us) places that are well worth seeing. Such beautiful views within the city limits – not everyone has that privilege! Three caches were found during this sweaty four-hour walk. Good for the body – and perhaps for the soul, too.

Årets blommor/This year’s flowers

Vi försöker upprätthålla traditionen med sommarblommor på altanen, men som vanligt fick vi en sen start (p g a jobb). Blomsterhandlarna har i princip tagit semesterledigt när vi kommer på besök. Trots det, med amatörmässiga insatser och stor kärlek, har vi nu rätt fina blomlådor (gamla affärsbelysningen) på altanen. I vått och torrt.

We are trying to maintain the tradition of summer flowers on the terrace, but as usual we got a late start (due to job). The florist shops have basically taken summer vacation by the time we come to visit. Even so, with amateurish efforts and great love, we now have the quite delicate flower boxes (the old business lights) on the patio. In wet and dry.

Sjön runt/Around the lake

Extremsemester och att Göra Ingenting går naturligtvis stick i stäv med ambitionen att röra mer på oss. Vi hittade den gyllene medelvägen genom att ta en promenad runt lilla sjön. Mestadels var det fin väg, på sina ställen fick vi kämpa mot vegetationen. Men på det hela taget var det en fin promenad som vi kommer att upprepa.

Extreme vacation and Doing Nothing is of course at odds with the ambition to exercise more. We found the golden compromise by taking a walk around the lake. Mostly there was a nice track, in some places we had to fight the vegetation. But on the whole it was a nice walk, that we will repeat.

Extrem semester/Extreme vacation

Vi har ockuperat lilla stugan ett par dagar för extremsemester. Det innebär att Göra Ingenting. Utom möjligen att lösa ett och annat korsord, läsa några rader i en bok, titta på vattnet och njuta av naturen och stillheten. Det kunde vara värre.

We have occupied the small cottage for a few days of extreme holiday. That means Doing Nothing. Except perhaps to solve an occasional crossword, read a few lines in a book, look at the water and enjoy the nature and stillness. Things could have been worse.

Första riktiga cykelturen/First real bike ride

Vi måste ju testa de nya leksakerna på riktigt någon gång, så vi siktade på att cykla hem till Urban och Anette, ca 12 km hemifrån. Inte jättelångt, men några ordentliga backar och otränade kroppar att ta hänsyn till. Det gick över förväntan! Vi kom både dit och hem igen utan problem.

We had to test the new toys for real sometime, of course, so we set off for a ride to the whereabouts of Urban and Anette, about 12 km from home. Not very far, but a few decent hills and untrained bodies to take into consideration. It went beyond expectations! We got there and back again without problems.

Hembygdsgården/Folk museum

Kombinerad geocaching- och cykeltur förde oss till hembygdsgården, Gudmundrå Hembygdsgård. Inledningsvis fint väder som övergick till småregn. Men vi hittade vår geocache och fick se det fina hembygdsgårdsområdet på köpet. Plus motionen förstås!

Combined geocaching and bike ride brought us to the local folk museum. Initially fine weather that turned to drizzle. But we found our geocache and had a glimpse of the fine folk museum area as a bonus. Plus the exercise of course!

Antonia & Mattias

Antonia tog med sig pojkvännen Mattias till Kramfors för första gången. Vi fick ett par trevliga kvällar – utomhus när vädret tillät. Där blev de i vanlig ordning utsatta för sällskapsspel till in på nattkröken.

Antonia took her boyfriend Mattias to Kramfors for the first time. We had a couple of nice evenings – outdoors when the weather permitted. There they were subjected to games as usual, until late night.

Mer lokal kultur – musik/More local culture – music

En inbjudan till Newport Festival i Nyhamn såg intressant ut så vi bokade biljetter och åkte till Mariebergs bygdegård där det hände. Vi fick höra riktigt bra musik med idel kvinnliga artister (med lite manlig backup). I stort sett bara coverlåtar, men vad gör det när det är bra? Först den lokala talangen Mathilda Litström med pojkvän, därefter Anna Stadling och Linda Ström med gitarristerna Thomas Tjärnkvist och Pecka Hammarstedt. Och till sist bandet Ellen Kay med sångerskan Ellen Krantz som spelade rockabilly tills dansgolvet började skaka. Vi var ordentligt svettiga efter dansen när vi for hem.

An invitation to the Newport Festival in Nyhamn looked interesting so we booked tickets and went to Marieberg’s community hall where it all happened. We got to hear really good music with nothing but female artists (with some male backup). Basically just cover songs, but what does that matter when they are good? First the local talent Mathilda Lidström with boyfriend, then Anna Stadling and Linda Ström with guitarists Thomas Tjärnkvist and Pecka Hammarstedt. And finally the Ellen Kay band with singer Ellen Krantz, who played rockabilly until the dance floor started shaking. We were properly sweaty from dancing when we drove home.
