En av oss hade en grundlig brist i lokalkännedomen som måste åtgärdas. Alltså blev det en promenad till stadens vackra kyrka. Mycket större kyrkogård än förväntat och ett roligt litet samtal med en kyrkogårdsarbetare:
– Letar du efter Pokémon?
– Nej, verkligen inte! Vet inte ens hur man gör.
– Inte jag heller, men jag har ju hört talas om det.
Vi antar att det inte går att hitta Pokémons på kyrkomark, samma som med geocachar.
One of us had a thorough lack of local knowledge that must be addressed. Thus a walk to the town’s beautiful church. Much larger cemetery than expected and a fun little conversation with a cemetery worker: – Looking for Pokémon? – No, absolutely not! Don’t even know how to do it. – Neither do I, but I’ve heard about it.
We assume there are no Pokémons on church grounds, as is the case with geo caches.
Vi tog ut bilen lite, mest för att kolla att de nya däcken var ok. Det var de. Vädret var så där, men några fina och lite udda ställen fick vi se.
We took the car out a little, mostly to make sure the new tires were ok. They were. The weather was so and so, but we saw some nice, and somewhat odd, places.
Vi tog oss upp till Ringkallen igen. En rätt krävande promenad. Ringkallen är ett av Nordingrås större bergmassiv som når 273 m ö h. Vägen till toppen är ca 3 km, bara uppför och rätt brant här och där. Som amatörmotionärer var vi rätt nöjda med att komma upp utan att få hjärtinfarkt. Och utsikten är hänförande! Det är nog därför Helmer Osslund hade detta berg som ett favoritställe.
We went up to Ringkallen again. A rather demanding walk. Ringkallen is one of Nordingrås major mountain ranges that reach 273 m a s l. The road to the top is about 3 km long, uphill only and quite steep here and there. As amateur exercisers, we were pretty happy to get up without getting a heart attack. And the view is breathtaking! That’s probably why Helmer Osslund had this mountainasa favorite place.
På vägen upp noterade vi att det har varit kustlinje här uppe någon gång. Landhöjningen fortgår!/On the way up, we noted that the coastline was up here at some time in history. Land uplift continues!Vi passerades av ett spänstigt gäng. Bra ställe för att motionera hästar./We passed by an able bunch. Suitable place to exercise horses.Vi tittade på utsikten. Magnifik som vanligt./We had a look at the view. Magnificent as usual.Sedan gick vi ner igen./Then we went down again.
Traditionalister som vi kan ju inte köpa all näring i butiken. Något måste det gå att ordna på egen hand, ute i det fria. Årets första kantarellsafari gick riktigt bra, drygt 3 liter/960 gram gula kantareller fick vi ihop. En redig kantarelltoast eller två räcker bra till middag.
Traditionalists as we are, we can’t buy all the food at the store. It must be possible to fix something on own,out in the open. The first chanterelle safari turned out very well, we got slightly more than 3 liters/960 grams of yellow chanterelles. And a sturdy chanterelle toast or two is good enough for dinner.
Varmt och fuktigt i skogen. Håll ögonen öppna./Warm and humid in the forest. Så var det dags igen för Lockne Byafest. Som vanligt utgick vi från Rogers och Maggans hemställe, där det blev både gott grillat och avancerade skyttetävlingar. (Blygsamheten förbjuder skribenten att tala om vem som vann… det ska dock noteras att två av tre tävlingar var barnanpassade.)
Senare for vi till Lockne där det redan var fullt med folk och god stämning. Lugnviks-pöjka, Andreas Strindlund och Daniel Sjöholm, spelade och det blev stundtals riktigt mycket folk på dansgolvet. Kvällen (d v s natten, klockan hann bli två sådär), avlutades med ett kolossalt åskväder med ett ösregn som går till historien. Häftigt var det – särskilt att Rogers och Maggans husvagn håller tätt även under sådana förhållanden. Vi kommer nog inte att kunna låta bli att delta nästa år igen!
So, time again for Lockne village party. As usual, our starting point was Roger’s and Maggan’s homestead, where we had good BBQ and advanced shooting competitions. (Modesty forbids the writer to talk about who won … although it should be noted that two of the three competitions were suitable for kids.)
Later we went to Lockne where there already were a crowd of people and a high spirit. The duo Lugnviks-pöjka, Andreas Strindlund and Daniel Sjöholm, played and at times there was quite a lot of people on the dance floor. The evening (i.e. night, around two or so), concluded with a colossal thunderstorm with a pouring rain to be remembered for the history books. It was awesome – especially that Roger’s and Maggan’s caravan stayed dry even under such conditions. We probably wont be able to refrain from participating again next year!

Geocachandet för det goda med sig att man hamnar på nya (åtminstone för en del av oss) ställen som är värda att se. Så vackra utsikter inom stadens gränser – det är inte alla förunnat! Tre cachar blev det under denna svettiga fyratimmarspromenad. Bra för kroppen – och kanske för själen med.
Geocaching brings the advantage that you end up on the new (at least for some of us) places that are well worth seeing. Such beautiful views within the city limits – not everyone has that privilege! Three caches were found during this sweaty four-hour walk. Good for the body – and perhaps for the soul, too.

Extremsemester och att Göra Ingenting går naturligtvis stick i stäv med ambitionen att röra mer på oss. Vi hittade den gyllene medelvägen genom att ta en promenad runt lilla sjön. Mestadels var det fin väg, på sina ställen fick vi kämpa mot vegetationen. Men på det hela taget var det en fin promenad som vi kommer att upprepa.
Extreme vacation and Doing Nothing is of course at odds with the ambition to exercise more. We found the golden compromise by taking a walk around the lake. Mostly there was a nice track, in some places we had to fight the vegetation. But on the whole it was a nice walk, that we will repeat.

Vi har ockuperat lilla stugan ett par dagar för extremsemester. Det innebär att Göra Ingenting. Utom möjligen att lösa ett och annat korsord, läsa några rader i en bok, titta på vattnet och njuta av naturen och stillheten. Det kunde vara värre.
We have occupied the small cottage for a few days of extreme holiday. That means Doing Nothing. Except perhaps to solve an occasional crossword, read a few lines in a book, look at the water and enjoy the nature and stillness. Things could have been worse.

Vi måste ju testa de nya leksakerna på riktigt någon gång, så vi siktade på att cykla hem till Urban och Anette, ca 12 km hemifrån. Inte jättelångt, men några ordentliga backar och otränade kroppar att ta hänsyn till. Det gick över förväntan! Vi kom både dit och hem igen utan problem.
We had to test the new toys for real sometime, of course, so we set off for a ride to the whereabouts of Urban and Anette, about 12 km from home. Not very far, but a few decent hills and untrained bodies to take into consideration. It went beyond expectations! We got there and back again without problems.
