Andlig utflykt/Spiritual excursion

En av oss hade en grundlig brist i lokalkännedomen som måste åtgärdas. Alltså blev det en promenad till stadens vackra kyrka. Mycket större kyrkogård än förväntat och ett roligt litet samtal med en kyrkogårdsarbetare:
– Letar du efter Pokémon?
– Nej, verkligen inte! Vet inte ens hur man gör.
– Inte jag heller, men jag har ju hört talas om det.
Vi antar att det inte går att hitta Pokémons på kyrkomark, samma som med geocachar.

One of us had a thorough lack of local knowledge that must be addressed. Thus a walk to the town’s beautiful church. Much larger cemetery than expected and a fun little conversation with a cemetery worker:
– Looking for Pokémon?
– No, absolutely not! Don’t even know how to do it.
– Neither do I, but I’ve heard about it.
We assume there are no Pokémons on church grounds, as is the case with geo caches.

Kort utflykt/Short outing

Vi tog ut bilen lite, mest för att kolla att de nya däcken var ok. Det var de. Vädret var så där, men några fina och lite udda ställen fick vi se.

We took the car out a little, mostly to make sure the new tires were ok. They were. The weather was so and so, but we saw some nice, and somewhat odd, places.

Ett känt berg/A wellknown mountain

Vi tog oss upp till Ringkallen igen. En rätt krävande promenad. Ringkallen är ett av Nordingrås större bergmassiv som når 273 m ö h. Vägen till toppen är ca 3 km, bara uppför och rätt brant här och där. Som amatörmotionärer var vi rätt nöjda med att komma upp utan att få hjärtinfarkt. Och utsikten är hänförande! Det är nog därför Helmer Osslund hade detta berg som ett favoritställe.

We went up to Ringkallen again. A rather demanding walk. Ringkallen is one of Nordingrås major mountain ranges that reach 273 m a s l. The road to the top is about 3 km long, uphill only and quite steep here and there. As amateur exercisers, we were pretty happy to get up without getting a heart attack. And the view is breathtaking! That’s probably why Helmer Osslund had this mountain as a favorite place.

Vyer inom stadsgränsen/Views within town borders

Geocachandet för det goda med sig att man hamnar på nya (åtminstone för en del av oss) ställen som är värda att se. Så vackra utsikter inom stadens gränser – det är inte alla förunnat! Tre cachar blev det under denna svettiga fyratimmarspromenad. Bra för kroppen – och kanske för själen med.

Geocaching brings the advantage that you end up on the new (at least for some of us) places that are well worth seeing. Such beautiful views within the city limits – not everyone has that privilege! Three caches were found during this sweaty four-hour walk. Good for the body – and perhaps for the soul, too.

Sjön runt/Around the lake

Extremsemester och att Göra Ingenting går naturligtvis stick i stäv med ambitionen att röra mer på oss. Vi hittade den gyllene medelvägen genom att ta en promenad runt lilla sjön. Mestadels var det fin väg, på sina ställen fick vi kämpa mot vegetationen. Men på det hela taget var det en fin promenad som vi kommer att upprepa.

Extreme vacation and Doing Nothing is of course at odds with the ambition to exercise more. We found the golden compromise by taking a walk around the lake. Mostly there was a nice track, in some places we had to fight the vegetation. But on the whole it was a nice walk, that we will repeat.

Valkallen igen/again

Kristin kom på besök och det gav oss anledning att återigen gå upp på Valkallen i Nordingrå. Det är en inte alltför lång men alltemellanåt riktigt brant promenad. Det man får se när man kommer upp är värt besväret!

Kristin came to visit and it gave us a reason to once again go up on Valkallen in Nordingrå. It is a not too long but occasionally quite steep walk. What you’ll see when coming up is worth the trouble getting there!

Ny kompis/New buddy

Vi kan stolta presentera en ny glad bekantskap från dagens promenad. Han presenterade sig inte med namn men var väldigt trevlig att prata med.
We are proud to present a new happy acquaintance from today’s walk. He did not introduce himself with a name but was very pleasant to talk to.

Lokal geocaching/Local geocaching

Målet idag var att hitta tre geocacher på lagom gångavstånd. Och det gjorde vi! Fast det tog sina tre timmar, inklusive rätt mycket letande och en kort visit hos Britt och John. Det vi fick, förutom trötta ben, var kännedom om nya områden och en och annan härlig utsikt.

The goal today was to find three caches at a comfortable walking distance. And we did! Though it took some three hours, including quite a lot of searching and a short visit at Britt and John’s. What we got, in addition to tired legs, was knowledge of new neighborhoods and one or two lovely views.
