Konst runt hörnet/Art around the corner

I Höga Kusten spritter det av kultur i alla vrår. Kanske allra mest konst, konstnärer och gallerier finns det gott om. Vi har ett fint galleri, Galleri Ängerö, på nära håll och vid senaste vernissagen blev det ett besök. Fin konst och fin musik ingick i upplevelsen (och kolbullar, men dem får andra bedöma).

The High Coast tingles of culture in every corner. Perhaps mostly art, there are plenty of artists and galleries. We have a fine gallery, the Ängerö Gallery, close by and at the latest opening we went for a visit. Fine art and fine music was part of the experience (and the traditional dish ‘charcoal buns’, but others have to judge those).

Lockne Byafest 2015/Lockne Village Feast 2015

Lite stammisar är vi allt, på grillfesten i Lockne som byalaget håller varje år. Vi har inte grillat så ofta men vi gillar stämningen och musiken. Som vanligt blev vi omhändertagna av Maggan och Roger. När vi kom dit var kubbtävlingen i full gång. Inom kort började Andreas Strindlund och Daniel Sjöholm att spela. Vi träffade Phil, en trevlig engelsman som har ett hus i området. Det visade att han var en hejare på att sjunga sitt hemlands folkmusik. Och sedan fortsatte dansen!

We are kind of regulars, at the barbecue in Lockne that the village community holds each year. We haven’t grilled so often but we like the atmosphere and the music. As usual, we were taken care of by Maggan and Roger. When we got there the kubb contest was in full swing. Within short Andreas Strindlund and Daniel Sjöholm began to play. We met Phil, a nice Englishman who has a house in the area. It turned out that he was a whiz at singing his homeland’s folk music. And then the dancing continued!

Sommarpremiär på Kramm/Summer premiere at Kramm

Häromkvällen hölls sommarens första grill- och trubadurafton på Hotell Kramm. Och vi var där! Det har aldrig hänt förut. Trevligt var det och framför allt var spelemannen Sam Younis väl värd besöket.

The other night the first summer barbecue and troubadour evening took place at Hotel Kramm. And we were there! That has never happened before. It was nice and, above all, the musician Sam Younis was well worth the visit.

Det var tidigt fullbokat och vädret tillät gästerna att sitta ute. It was early fully booked and the weather allowed the guests to sit outside.

Fest i Lockne igen/Party in Lockne again

För en vecka sedan var det årlig byfest i Lockne igen, en perfekt sommarkväll och -natt. Vi åt middag hemma hos Roger och Maggan först och kom till Lockne i lagom tid för kubbspelsfinalen. Sedan blev det dans!
A week ago it was time for the annual fiesta in Lockne village again, on a perfect summer evening and -night. We had dinner at the home of Roger and Maggan and arrived in Lockne just in for the game finale. Then there was dancing!

Torgdag/Market day

Vi hamnade på torget och där spelades musik – tunggung av bästa slag. Hade vi varit modigare så hade vi dansat! Nu fick det bli diskreta huvudnickningar i takt till Great Hanssons R&B Band så vi inte skämde ut oss. Jättekul med mycket liv och rörelse på torget!

We ended up in the town square and there music was played – heavy groove of the best kind. Had we been braver, we had danced! Now we had to content ourselves with subtle head nodding to the beat of the Great Hansson’s R & B Band not to make fools of ourselves. Great fun with a lot of people and activities in the square!

En dag på stan 23/A day in the city 23

Idag var det allsång i centrum av den lilla förorten. Gruppen ”Smågodis” sjöng riktigt bra (om än kanske lite tråkigt) och allsångshäftet var också en lott. Nästa lördag blir det ännu bättre, torget blir platsen för en ”jazzdag”.
Today there was singsong in the centre of the little suburb. The group ”Small candy” sang quite well (although perhaps a little boring) and the singsong booklet was also a lottery ticket. Next Saturday it will be even better: the square will be the location for a ”jazz day”.

Taj Mahal i/in Stockholm

Igår kväll var vi och såg/hörde blueslegenden Taj Mahal på Göta Källare. Tunggung rätt in i kroppen!
Yesterday night we went and saw/heard the blues legend Taj Mahal at Göta Källare. Heavy beats straight into the body!

Harry Oliver

Vi har just varit på vår bästa musikal hittills. Harry Oliver! Den som inte går och ser den får skylla sig själv. Stackars Stockholm som inte har detta. Än. Superprofessionellt!
We have just been to our best musical so far. Harry Oliver! Those who don’t go and see it have to blame themselves. Poor Stockholm that doesn’t have this. Yet. Super professional!

Jonas och Fredrik tittar förbi/Jonas and Fredrik stop by

Sedan var det dags för pojkarna från Stockholms södra förorter att titta in. Det blev mycket tid på klipporna, dag som natt. Bad och musik. Även under de tidigare morgontimmarna.

Then it was time for the boys from Stockholm’s southern suburbs to pop by. Much time was spent on the cliffs, day as night. Swimming and music. Even in the early morning hours.

Hos MC-klubben/At the MC club

Plötsligt fick vi meddelande om att MC-klubben hade träff på Klockestrand och att vi var välkomna. Vi for dit och dansade till musik spelad av detta tvågitarrsband som vi har hört förut. De var förstärkta med ett riktigt bra munspel. Vi mötte också ett par från Nederländerna som var på väg till Kiruna på MC. Efter det blev vi nästan uppätna av myggen.

Suddenly we had a message that the MC club had a get-together at Klockestrand and that we were welcome. We went and danced to music played by this two guitar band we have heard before. They were reinforced by a very good harmonica. We also met a pair from the Netherlands on their way to Kiruna by motorbike. After that we were almost eaten by the mosquitos.
