Kantarelljakt/Chanterelle hunt

Vi gav oss ut i skogen för att hitta några kantareller och njuta av det fina vädret. Vi både hittade svamp och blev överväldigade av skogslandskapet. Som boken som Ylva just producerar fastställer: Skog dominerar Sverige och täcker mer än halva landet, vilket den inte gör i Europa i sin helhet.
We went out into the woods to find some chanterelles and enjoy the nice weather. We both found mushrooms and were overwhelmed by the forest landscape. As the book Ylva is producing for the moment states: Forests dominate Sweden, and cover more than half the country, which is not the case in Europe as a whole.

Villa Fraxinus

Mot slutet av semestern besökte vi Villa Fraxinus som vi talat om så länge. Det var i elfte timmen – fastigheten är ute till försäljning. Men det var en verkligt inspirerande och trivsam plats, där trädgårdsarkitekterna Sture och Ingelöv skapat en helt unik miljö. Vi fick idéer för vårt eget ställe. Tyvärr gör inte bilderna till här trädgården rättvisa. Se även under rubriken Bildspelen till vänster.
At the end of the vacation we visited Villa Fraxinus, of which we had spoken for so long. It was at the eleventh hour – the estate is out for sale. But it was a really inspiring and cosy place, where the garden architects Sture and Ingelöv have created a totally unique environment. We got ideas for our own place. Unfortunately the pictures here don’t do justice to the garden. Also, see under the heading Bildspelen to the left.

Jaha. Och varför skulle någon vilja bo så här, bortom allt? Jo, bara för att utsikten från vårt köksfönster är nästan smärtsamt vacker.

And so. Why would anyone want to live like this, away from all? Well, just because the view from our kitchen window is almost painfully beautiful.

Traditionell byafest/Traditional village feast

Återigen hamnade vi på Lockne bygdefest – för vilken gång i ordningen? Som vanligt tillsammans med Maggan och Roger och nu även Lasse. Precis som alla andra hade vi med oss BBQ & dricka. Kubbturnering (vi fick inte ihop ett lag). Sedan dans till musik av två jätteduktiga lokala musiker. De som blev trötta hittade en plats att sova.
Once again we ended up at Locke village feast – what time was this in the course of order? As always in the company of Maggan and Roger and now also Lasse. As all the others we brought BBQ and drinks. A traditional party game tournament (we couldn’t gather a team). Then dance to music from two very talented local musicians. Those who got tired found a place to sleep.

Höga Kusten-turen/The High Coast tour

Vi ville förstås visa Jonas och Fredrik lite av vad landskapet kan erbjuda. Alltså en liten tur ute i Höga Kusten via Sandöbron. Första stopp var Mannaminne, där vi bl a tittade på Draken och tekniska museet och väldigt många andra saker. Sedan for vi till fiskeläget Bönhamn där det var förvånansvärt få gästbåtar. Sen lunch i Barsta där vi också besökte träkapellet från 1600-talet, utomordentligt välhållet. Hemresan gick via Höga Kusten-bron.

We wanted to show Jonas and Fredrik a little of what the county has to offer. Thus a short tour out to the High Coast via the Sandö bridge. First stop at Mannaminne museum. Then we went to the fishing village Bönhamn where there were astonishingly few guest boats. Late lunch in Barsta where we also visited the 17ooth century wooden chapel, extraordinarily well kept. The journey home went via the High Coast bridge.

Det blir bra mycket att ta reda på efter en avverkning av denna kaliber. Vi har ett par jättelika högar med grenar och kvistar nedanför huset. Det får vi bränna längre fram. Men dessutom blir det förstås ved som går att elda för värme, det som Andreas drog ihop åt oss. Urban kom och hämtade det som hans hus behöver för vintern. Det grövre kommer en granne att ta hand om.
There is quite a lot to get rid of after a logging of this calibre. We have a couple of giant heaps of branches and twigs below the house. We will have to burn that later on. But of course there is also wood that is firewood for hea, that Andreas pulled together for us. Urban came and got what his house needs for winter. The larger stuff a neighbor will take care of.

Resultatet av insatserna är ju viktigast. Vi har fått en öppen och fin slänt ned mot vattnet och en härlig utsikt. Dessutom har våra smultron fått ett helt nytt liv. Inte konstigt att Sigge är nöjd med situationen.
The results of the efforts are of course the most important. We have gotten an open and nice slope down towards the water and a fantastic view. Moreover our wild strawberries have gotten a whole new life. No wonder Sigge is content with the situation.

Fåglarna – livet /The birds – life

Familjen Mås har flyttat in ”hos oss”. Mamma (?) Mås har tre ungar att föda. Stora nog att flyga själva och därmed rätt påfrestande kan man tro. Efter ungarnas intensiva hackande på hans/hennes näbb kastar föräldern upp vad än som kan ätas och alla är glada.
The family Gull has moved in ”with us”. Mother (?) Gull has three youngs to feed. Big enough to fly by themselves and thereby quite trying one would suspect. After the young ones’ intense pecking at her/his beak the parent throws up whatever can be eaten and everybody is happy.

Utsikt från ett tempel/View from a temple

Efter en massa naturstädning är det skönt att ta igen sig på vår egen tempelplats, Abu Simpel. Två sittplatser för regenterna – att sitta och se ut över floden. Men i vårt fall kanske inte helt kungligt… Det är därför vi kallar det Simpel istället för Simbel. I övrigt är det helt överjordiskt (typ).

After a lot of nature cleaning it’s nice to have a rest at our own temple spot, Abu Simple. Two seats for the regents – to sit and watch over the river. But perhaps in our case not all that regal… That’s why we call it Simple instead of Simbel. Other than that, everything is all unearthly (kind of).

Så klart ”våra” klippor måste putsas. Nu pratar vi städning.
Of course ”our” cliffs have to be trimmed. Now we talk cleaning.
