Vi har ett naturreservat runt hörnet i de södra förorterna. Välskött skog, fina stigar och välordnade grillplatser. Det är bara sorgligt att en del människor orkar bära dit förtäringen men inte orkar ta med sig skräpet hem igen.
We have a nature reserve around the corner in the southern suburbs. Well-kept forest, nice paths and well-ordered barbecue areas. It’s just sad that some people are fit enough to take their food and drinks there, but aren’t fit enough to take the garbage home again.
Vilken dag! Våren när den är som bäst och vart man än ser hamnar blommor i blickfånget.
What day! Spring when it’s the best and wherever you see, flowers are the focal point.
I Stockholm börjar det faktiskt bli något som liknar en tidig vår, det kändes mycket väl på promenaden mot jobbet. Nu dröjer det inte länge förrän man kan sitta i solen på Älvsjöbadet, även om det inte blir vatten i poolen förrän i maj.
In Stockholm, it actually begins to be something like an early spring, you could feel it very distinctively during the walk to work. Now it’s not long before you can sit in the sun at Älvsjöbadet, although there will not be any water in the pool until May.
Idag blev det en ny promenadväg, mest för att utröna hur man bäst går till fots till Jonas och Elin. Det var inte svårt att hitta alls och det var en riktigt trevlig promenad. Örby slott bjöd på en liten kulturupplevelse i form av konstnären, visdiktaren och plåtslagaren Ruben Nilson.
Today, a new walkway was tried out, mostly to find out how to best go on foot to Jonas and Elin. It was not hard to find at all and it was a really nice walk. Örby Castle offered a small cultural experience in the form of the artist, song writer and sheet-metal worker Ruben Nilson.
När den medborgerliga plikten var fullgjord blev det en promenad, via Kräppladalen till och runt Älvsjöskogen. I skogen öppnade sig himlen. Det blev en kort stund under ett träd, alldeles vid naturreservatsskylten i väntan på uppehåll. Men det kom inte så det var bara att fortsätta. Lagom vid hemkomst, helt genomblöt, upphörde regnet.
When the civic duty was completed, time for a walk, via the Kräppla valley to and around the Älvsjö forest. In the woods the sky opened. A short stop for awhile under a tree, right next to the nature reserve sign while waiting for the rain to cease. But it did not so the only thing to do was to keep on. On getting home, completely soaked, the rain stopped.
Det har varit mycket ett tag och då talar vi inte ledighet. Men äntligen blev det några timmars andrum som tillbringades i den gamla kära Älvsjöskogen. Som numera är så prydlig att det är nästan som hemma i vardagsrummet… ja, prydligare! Det är nästan skönt när man upptäcker en och annan överträdelse mot det städade. T o m de gamla byggnaderna vid Älvsjö gamla IP (se blogginlägg från 2011 här →) är ersatta med en ny strömlinjeformad historia.
It has been a lot for a while and we don’t mean spare time. But at last, there were a few hours of breathing space spent in the old good Älvsjöskogen (Älvsjö forest). Nowadays it’s so tidy that it’s almost like home in the living room … well, even tidier! It sort of feels good when you discover some kind of violation of the tidyness. Even the old houses buildings at Älvsjö old rugby ground (see blog entry from 2011 here →) have been replaced with a new streamlined building.

En helg i Stockholm med halvhyfsat väder, då kan det vara läge att ta upp geocachingen igen (vi har ju inte kommit så långt med det än). En sak som är bra med ”sporten” är att man får chansen – eller blir tvungen, hur man nu ser på det – att se platser och vyer i de gamla vanliga kvarteren som man aldrig hade sett annars.
A weekend in Stockholm with half-decent weather, this may be the time to take up geocaching again (we have not come that far with it yet). One thing that is good with the ”sport” is that you get the chance – or are obliged to, however you look at it – to see places and views in the old wellknown neighborhood that you had never seen otherwise.
Den andra av oss var hänvisad till att promenera i de södra förorterna. Det blev ungefär den vanliga rundan. Fint väder. Varmt – inte förväntad krispig höstdagskänsla utan mer som en sen sensommardag.
The other of us was adverted to take a walk in the southern suburbs. About the usual round as it turned out. Nice weather. Warm – not the expected crispy autumnal feeling but more like a late late summer’s day.
Äntligen sommar. Bassängen är fylld och glasskiosken har öppnat. Säga vad man vill om Stockholms fruktade södra förorter, men det är rätt gemytligt på det lokala badet bland barnfamiljer och ensamma, grillångor och kebabtallrikar, folk och fä. Sommarstämning!
Summer at last. The pool is filled and the ice cream booth has opened. Say what you want about the feared southern suburbs of Stockholm, but it’s quite cozy at the local common pool with families and single people, barbecue fumes and kebab dishes, folks and animals. Summer Mood!
Dagens promenad passerade det gamla tillhållet Älvsjö station och torg. Det är inte mycket som är sig likt. Denna bild är tagen stående framför biblioteket. Numera finns också en stor inomhusparkering för cyklar – ett riktigt bra initiativ.
Today’s walk passed the old haunt Älvsjö station and square. Not much looks as it did. This picture is taken standing in front of the library. Nowadays there is also a large indoor parking for bicycles – a really good initiative!
