Trevlig träff i förorten/Nice meeting in the suburb

Sigge kom till Stockholm för att som vanligt delta i KSLA:s högtidssammankomst. Fredrik kom till Stockholm i jobbärende. Antonia är för det mesta i Stockholm och jobbar, men med oregelbundna tider. Micke Sparrvardt bor i Stockholm, rehabiliterar sig för närvarande från en arbetsskada. Plötsligt befann sig alla i vår lilla lägenhet. Hur kul som helst (även om glasen inte räckte till…)! Vi hoppas på fler sådana tillfällen.

Sigge came to Stockholm to participate in KSLA’s Commemorative Meeting as usual. Fredrik came to Stockholm on job business. Antonia spends most of her time in Stockholm working, but with irregular times. Micke Sparrvardt lives in Stockholm, at present rehabilitating from a work injury. Suddenly all of these showed up in our small apartment. So much fun (even if there were not enough glasses…)! We hope for more such opportunities.

Januarimotion/January exercise

Motionen har fått ge vika för jobb på sistone. En liten sväng i gamla goda Älvsjöskogen har det i alla fall blivit. En bild är beviset. Ganska trist.

The exercise have given way to jobs lately. But at least we have accomplished a short tour in the good old Älvsjö forest. One picture to prove it. Quite boring.

Julstämning i förorten/Christmas atmosphere in the suburb

Plötsligt kom snön! Och med den en omisskännlig julstämning. Det kunde vara värre i de södra förorterna.

Suddenly the snow came! And with that an unmistakable Christmas atmosphere. Things could be worse in the southern suburbs.

Stockholm från ovan/Stockholm from above

KSLA:s matguru Linda går i pension och kanslipersonalen ville avtacka henne med en god middag. Det blev det också, traditionellt julbord på bra ställe i Stockholm. Men före dess bjöd Linda in oss alla hem till sig, till sin lilla lägenhet på 8:e våningen mitt i Stockholm. Och till takterrassen i samma hus på 9:e våningen, där vi fick en fantastisk utsikt och Lindas goda glögg och tilltugg.

KSLA’s food guru Linda retires and the office staff wanted to thank her with a good dinner. This also took place, a traditional Christmas meal at a good place in Stockholm. But before that, Linda invited us all to her home, to her small apartment on the 8th floor in the middle of Stockholm. And to the roof terrace in the same house on the 9th floor, where we got a fantastic view and Linda’s good mulled wine and snacks.

Lägenhetsbyte/Apartments exchange

Under hösten fanns en lapp om att byta lägenheter inom området uppsatt i trappuppgången till vår lägenhet. Vi nappade på det. Det hela slutade med att vi bytte till en mindre och mer lagom lägenhet, ett arbete som var så jobbigt att vi inte tog en enda bild av det.

During the autumn, there was a note about exchanging apartments in the area posted in the staircase to our apartment. We jumped at the offer. It all ended with us switching to a smaller and better sized apartment, a job that was so hard that we didn’t take one single picture of it.

Kattvakt/Cat nanny

Jonas och Elin skulle delta i något fysiskt kraftprov under helgen och den av oss som lägligt nog befann sig i Stockholm fick äran att ta hand om deras två unga fina Maine Coon-katter.
Jonas and Elin were to participate in some physical power test during the weekend and the one of us who conveniently enough was in Stockholm had the honor to take care of their two young fine Maine Coon cats.

Pubquiz 1

Ylva blev inbjuden att delta i en pubquiz på en av Stockholms trevligare pubar. Jonas och Elin utgjorde resten av quizlaget. Vi lyckades ganska bra, även om vi inte vann – ämnet var inte särskilt kul: tv-serier. Kanske det blir ett bättre ämne nästa gång!

Ylva was invited to attend a pubquiz at one of Stockholm’s nicer pubs. Jonas and Elin were the rest of the quiz team. We managed quite well, although we did not win – the topic was not very fun: TV shows. Maybe it will be a better topic next time!

Pub och bibliotek/Pub and library

Ylva har ett jobb där det ingår en pubafton varje månad, den som kan och vill deltar. Denna månads pubafton kombinerades med en visning av akademiens bibliotek och boksamlingar. Det hela avslutades med öl och mat nere i Oscars källare.

Ylva has a job that includes a pub evening every month, those who want and are able to participate do so. This month’s pub evening was combined with a presentation of the Academy’s library and book collections. It all ended with beer and food down in Oscars cellar.

Bokpresentation i kollegierummet. — Vi började med en rundtur i biblioteket (inga bilder). Sedan presenterade bibliotekarierna ett antal intressanta böcker ur samlingarna. *We started with a tour of the library (no photos). Then the librarians presented a number of interesting books from the collections.*

Växtplanschverk. — Fina växtplanschverk från 1700-talet. *Nice plant picture books from the 18th century.*

Lantbruksbok. — Allt handlar om lantbruk. *All is about farming.*

Jordbruksbok från 1500-talet. — Jordbrukslära från 1500-talet. *Agricultural education from the 16th century.*

Förortskontraster/Suburb contrasts

Till storstaden och de södra förorterna igen. Olika människor associerar ordet ”förort” till olika saker. På senare år har förorten ofta framstått som en krigszon i media, med alla bilbränder o s v, och fått ett oförtjänt dåligt rykte. Men förorten är fylld av kontraster.

To the big city and the southern suburbs again. Different people associate the word ”suburb” to different things. In recent years, the suburb has often emerged as a war zone in the media, with all car fires, etc., and has gained an undeserved bad reputation. But the suburb is filled with contrasts.

Ormkärrsskolan — Kunde vara vilken landsortsskola som helst. *Could be any school in the rural areas.*

Rågsvedsfritids — Några kvarter längre bort har skolbarnen detta. *A few blocks away the school children have this.*

Graffiti, dröm stort! — Så kan det se ut på väg hem från jobbet. *This is how it can look on the way home from work.*

Kattansvar på vår Nationaldag/Cat responsibility on our National Day

Jonas och Elin for till Göteborg på konsert och kvar hemma blev deras Maine Coon-katter Olle och Greta. Vi fick i uppdrag att ge dem mat och kärlek i två dagar, ett kärt nöje som även gav oss en skön promenad. Katterna är dock snabbare än kameran så bilderna blev så där.

Jonas and Elin went to Gothenburg on a concert and left their Maine Coon-cats Olle and Greta back home. We were commissioned to give them food and love for two days, a great pleasure that also gave us a nice walk. However, the cats are faster than the camera so the pictures came out so and so.
