Julafton 2013/Christmas Eve 2013

Vi bjöds in att fira julafton med Urban och Anette med släkt och vänner. Hos dem var det JUL på riktigt. Efter rejält med väldigt god julmat var det dags för julklappar. Julklappsspelet som kan sluta med att julklappar distribuerats helt jämlikt och rättvist eller helt ojämlikt och orättvist, bara Urban blir utan… 🙂
We were invited to celebrate Christmas Eve with Urban and Anette with family and friends. At their place it was CHRISTMAS for real. After plenty of very good Christmas food, it was time for presents. The Christmas game that can end up with Christmas gifts distributed perfectly equally and fairly or completely unequal and unfairly, as long as Urban doesn’t get any… 🙂

Färgstark senhöst/Colorful late fall

Vi tittade ut mot närmaste grannen för några dagar sedan och möttes av ovanligt intensiva färger i den låga solens ljus. Dags att flytta in för vintern.
We looked out towards the closest neighbor a couple of days ago and were met by unusually intense colors in the light of the low sun. Time to move in for the winter.

Oväntat födelsedagskalas/Unexpected birthday party

I onsdags, när Ylva anlände till ”norra filialen” med tåget, så blev det omedelbar utryckning till födelsedagskalas. Leah (grannen) fyllde 6 år! Vi snyggade till oss och promenerade över med bästa födelsedagspresenten – ett schackspel. Vi fick kalasgod födelsedagstårta med blåbär som Leahs mormor bakat. Leah klädd i en fin rosa ”prinsessklänning”, födelsedagspresent från mamma Cissi.
This Wednesday, when Ylva arrived at ”the northern branch” by train, we had an immediate emergency call to a birthday party. Leah (neighbor) turned 6! We cleaned ourselves up and walked over with our best birthday present – a chess game. We had delicious birthday cake with blueberries that Leah’s grandmother had made. Leah dressed in a pretty pink ”princess dress”, a birthday gift from mum Cissi.

Vacker höstdag/Beautiful autumn day

Igår, fredag, var det så vackert ute att vi måste ta bilen och göra en liten exkursion. Höga Kusten förstås. En god vän har den här utsikten från sin sommarstuga.

Yesterday, Friday, it was so beautiful outside that we had to take the car for a little excursion. The High Coast of course. A good friend has this view from his summer cottage.

Lillebror blir 50/Little brother turns 50

Sigges bror Urban fyllde 50. Inget firande skulle det bli! Trodde han… Anette gick bakom ryggen på honom och ordnade ett ordentligt överraskningsparty. Den som såg hans min när han fick av sig ögonbindeln kommer aldrig att glömma den! Släkt och vänner – hur många har han? – var på plats. Och ingen hade avslöjat något i förväg.
Sigge’s brother Urban turned 50. There wasn’t going to be any celebration! That’s what he thought… Anette went behind his back and arranged a real surprise party. Anyone who saw the look on his face when the blindfold was off will never forget it! Relatives and friends – how many has he? – were there. And nobody had revealed anything beforehand.

Årets första kräftor/This year’s first crayfish

Traditionella kräftor i goda vänners lag är inte fel. Vi startade med kräftfrågesport och fortsatte med snapsfrågesport (medan vi åt kräftor med tillbehör) tills det var tydligt att när alkoholen går in går vettet ut. Roger behöll vettet ända till slutet. En riktigt trevlig kväll!
Traditional crayfish in the company of good friends isn’t wrong. We started with a crayfish quiz and continued with a drinking song quiz (while we had crayfish, etc.) until it was clear that where the liquor goes in the wits go out. Roger kept his wits all the way to the very end. A very nice evening!

Ungdomar vid sjö/Youth by lake

Även om stugans ägare är drygt medelålders så är verksamheten där ungdomlig. Mattias badar i sjön, fågelungar väntar på mat i hängrännan precis ovanför entrén till stugan.
Even if the cottage’s owners are slightly over middleage the activities there are youthful. Mattias swims in the lake, baby birds wait for food in the gutter precisely above the entrance to the cottage.

Fiske i stugan/Fishing at the cottage

Jonas och hans flickvän Elin kom på besök. Vi for allihop ut till Britts och Johns stuga en dag, där det var lugnt och skönt som vanligt.
Vi förstod snart att Elin är en riktig fiskekvinna som vet det man behöver veta om hur man fixar spön o s v. Jonas fick också en gädda på kroken men den slet sig. Lite senare kom Britt och John och efter lunch blev det dart. Åskådarna insåg snart att mer tur än skicklighet var inblandat i det.
Jonas and his girlfriend Elin came for a visit. All of us went out to Britt’s and John’s cottage one day, where it was peaceful and quiet as always.
We soon understood that Elin is a real fisherwoman who knows what there is to know about how to fix fishing rods and so on. Jonas actually had a pike on the hook but it tore loose. A little later Britt and John came and after lunch dart was on. The spectators soon realized that more luck than skill was involved in that.

Blandat snickeri/Assorted carpentry

Varit borta härifrån ett tag igen. Därför är detta lite historia redan.
Been away from this for a while. Therefore this is a little bit of history already.

Sigge snickrar inte bara i egna hemmet. Släkt och vänner ber ibland om hjälp. Bland annat en trappa i föräldrarnas stuga och en spång som går till kompisarnas stuga.
Sigge carpenters not only in the own house. Relatives and friends sometimes ask for help. Among other things a staircase in the parents’ cottage and a bridge to the buddies’ cottage.

Bäckfiske/Creek fishing

En sen afton for Sigge, John, Urban och Fredrik och fiskade i en bäck. Äventyret startade med punktering mitt i skogen. Som tur var fanns Andreas i närheten och kunde komma och hjälpa till. Författaren av detta har fortfarande inte sett resultatet av fisket.
One late night Sigge, John, Urban and Fredrik went fishing in a creek. The adventure started with a flat tire in the middle of the forest. Luckily Andreas was near by and could come an help. The author of this still hasn’t seen any result from the fishing.
