Vyer inom stadsgränsen/Views within town borders

Geocachandet för det goda med sig att man hamnar på nya (åtminstone för en del av oss) ställen som är värda att se. Så vackra utsikter inom stadens gränser – det är inte alla förunnat! Tre cachar blev det under denna svettiga fyratimmarspromenad. Bra för kroppen – och kanske för själen med.

Geocaching brings the advantage that you end up on the new (at least for some of us) places that are well worth seeing. Such beautiful views within the city limits – not everyone has that privilege! Three caches were found during this sweaty four-hour walk. Good for the body – and perhaps for the soul, too.

Sjön runt/Around the lake

Extremsemester och att Göra Ingenting går naturligtvis stick i stäv med ambitionen att röra mer på oss. Vi hittade den gyllene medelvägen genom att ta en promenad runt lilla sjön. Mestadels var det fin väg, på sina ställen fick vi kämpa mot vegetationen. Men på det hela taget var det en fin promenad som vi kommer att upprepa.

Extreme vacation and Doing Nothing is of course at odds with the ambition to exercise more. We found the golden compromise by taking a walk around the lake. Mostly there was a nice track, in some places we had to fight the vegetation. But on the whole it was a nice walk, that we will repeat.

Första riktiga cykelturen/First real bike ride

Vi måste ju testa de nya leksakerna på riktigt någon gång, så vi siktade på att cykla hem till Urban och Anette, ca 12 km hemifrån. Inte jättelångt, men några ordentliga backar och otränade kroppar att ta hänsyn till. Det gick över förväntan! Vi kom både dit och hem igen utan problem.

We had to test the new toys for real sometime, of course, so we set off for a ride to the whereabouts of Urban and Anette, about 12 km from home. Not very far, but a few decent hills and untrained bodies to take into consideration. It went beyond expectations! We got there and back again without problems.

Hembygdsgården/Folk museum

Kombinerad geocaching- och cykeltur förde oss till hembygdsgården, Gudmundrå Hembygdsgård. Inledningsvis fint väder som övergick till småregn. Men vi hittade vår geocache och fick se det fina hembygdsgårdsområdet på köpet. Plus motionen förstås!

Combined geocaching and bike ride brought us to the local folk museum. Initially fine weather that turned to drizzle. But we found our geocache and had a glimpse of the fine folk museum area as a bonus. Plus the exercise of course!

Nya leksaker/New toys

I vårt nya liv, som går ut på att röra mer på våra långsamma kroppar, passar en ny leksak. En bra cykel. Faktiskt två bra cyklar, helt identiska, en var. Riktiga kap (tror vi). Nu har vi ingen ursäkt längre…

In our new lives, which is about moving our slow bodies more, a new toy fits perfectly. A good bike. Actually two good bikes, identical, one each. Real bargains (we think). Now we have no excuse anymore …

Valkallen igen/again

Kristin kom på besök och det gav oss anledning att återigen gå upp på Valkallen i Nordingrå. Det är en inte alltför lång men alltemellanåt riktigt brant promenad. Det man får se när man kommer upp är värt besväret!

Kristin came to visit and it gave us a reason to once again go up on Valkallen in Nordingrå. It is a not too long but occasionally quite steep walk. What you’ll see when coming up is worth the trouble getting there!

Ny kompis/New buddy

Vi kan stolta presentera en ny glad bekantskap från dagens promenad. Han presenterade sig inte med namn men var väldigt trevlig att prata med.
We are proud to present a new happy acquaintance from today’s walk. He did not introduce himself with a name but was very pleasant to talk to.

Lokal geocaching/Local geocaching

Målet idag var att hitta tre geocacher på lagom gångavstånd. Och det gjorde vi! Fast det tog sina tre timmar, inklusive rätt mycket letande och en kort visit hos Britt och John. Det vi fick, förutom trötta ben, var kännedom om nya områden och en och annan härlig utsikt.

The goal today was to find three caches at a comfortable walking distance. And we did! Though it took some three hours, including quite a lot of searching and a short visit at Britt and John’s. What we got, in addition to tired legs, was knowledge of new neighborhoods and one or two lovely views.

Nytt liv dag 2/New life day 2

Motionsambitionen hölls intakt över natten, vilket resulterade i en lång promenad idag i ganska ok väder. Och nu är det sommar på riktigt!

The exercise ambition was kept intact over night, which resulted in a long walk today in the pretty ok weather. And now it’s summer for real!

Äntligen ledig/Finally free

Nu är det dags för semester och i år är planen någon form av fysisk aktivitet varje ledig dag. Vi började i god stil med rask promenad. Den avbröts av att ett gäng söta fågelungar bara måste förevigas. Sedan avbröts den igen av att ett gäng nya motionsredskap bara måste provas. Men det var ändå en helt ok start på det nya livet. Fast blöt.

Now it’s time for vacation and this year the plan is some sort of physical activity each day. We started in style with a brisk walk. It was interrupted by a bunch of cute chicks that just had to be perpetuated. Then it was interrupted again by a bunch of new exercise equipment that just had to be tested. But it was still an ok start to the new life. Although wet.
