Kramfors har i likhet med Sundsvall gjort en rolig grej av stadens symbol. I Sundsvall är det draken*, i Kramfors är det kråkan. Flera fina företagssponsrade/-målade kråkor står utställda i centrum. En trevlig och positiv färgklick även när det regnar!
Kramfors, like Sundsvall, has made a fun feature of the town’s symbol. In Sundsvall it’s the dragon*, in Kramfors it’s the crow. Several fine corporate sponsored/painted crows are exhibited at the center of the town. A nice and positive splash of color also when it’s raining!

Mitt ute i skogen det som för 8000 år sedan var en naturhamn. In the middle of the forest what was natural port 8000 years ago.
Tidigare har vi bara passerat skylten som pekar mot stenåldersbosättningen men nu var det dags att ta en titt (se inlägg 11 nov 2017).
På stenåldern var de högsta bergen i Älvsjöskogen öar i havet och här fanns då många bra naturhamnar. På just denna plats har man hittat sten som bearbetats av människor, vilket visar att det bott folk här. De försörjde sig troligen bl a genom att jaga säl. Man tror att denna boplats är ca 8000 år gammal.
In the past we have just passed the sign pointing to the stone age settlement but now it was time to take a look (see entry Nov 11, 2017)
During the stone age the highest mountains in Älvsjöskogen were islands in the sea and there were many good natural ports. In this very place, stone has been found that has been processed by people which shows that people lived here. They probably supported themselves by chasing seals. It is believed that this settlement is about 8000 years old.
Idag blev det en ny promenadväg, mest för att utröna hur man bäst går till fots till Jonas och Elin. Det var inte svårt att hitta alls och det var en riktigt trevlig promenad. Örby slott bjöd på en liten kulturupplevelse i form av konstnären, visdiktaren och plåtslagaren Ruben Nilson.
Today, a new walkway was tried out, mostly to find out how to best go on foot to Jonas and Elin. It was not hard to find at all and it was a really nice walk. Örby Castle offered a small cultural experience in the form of the artist, song writer and sheet-metal worker Ruben Nilson.

Rolling Stones hade en spelning i Stockholm och vi tog chansen att gå och se dem. Kändes som sista chansen, såväl bandet som vi börjar ju bli lite gråa. Friends Arena fylldes i alla fall i princip till 100 % och vi hörde verkligen inte till de äldsta i publiken. Bilderna är tagna med telefon och eftersom folk stampade takten så att hela arenan rörde sig så var det svårt att få dem skarpa. Det var i alla fall en upplevelse!
Rolling Stones had a gig in Stockholm and we took the chance to go see them. It felt like the last chance, as both the band and we ourselves start to get a little gray. In any case, Friends Arena was basically seated to 100% and we really were not among the oldest in the audience. The pictures are taken by phone and since people stamped the beat so that the entire arena moved, it was difficult to get them sharp. Anyway, it was certainly an experience!

Helt oplanerat fick vi en helg i Stockholm tillsammans och kände att vi behövde fylla den med något annat än att titta på tapeterna i lägenheten. Det blev en lång promenad i Stockholms centrala delar. Vi avslutade på kvarterskrogen i den södra förorten.
Totally unplanned, we had a weekend in Stockholm together and felt we needed to fill it with something besides watching the wallpaper in the apartment. It turned out to a long walk in the central parts of Stockholm. We finished at the local restaurant/bar in the southern suburb.

Vi hade en mycket stillsam, informell och enkel kräftskiva för två personer.
We threw a very quiet, informal and simple crayfish party for two people.
Kräftskivan är nästan över redan. Men både snapsen och Västerbottenspajen var med./The crayfish party is nearly over already. But both the dram and the Västerbotten pie were in it.
Bandet Nylands Järn gjorde en bejublad miniturné med stopp i olika småbåtshamnar i Kramfors omnejd. Ett stopp var Klockestrand, där vi och massor av andra fick oss en stunds bra och rolig musik.
The band Nyland’s Järn made a celebrated minitour with stops in various marinas around Kramfors. One stop was Klockestrand, where we and a lot of others had a moment of good and fun music.
Geocaching-turen fortsatte. Vid Sånga kyrka skulle det finnas en geocache. Vi kom dit efter stängningstid men som tur var så var den unge kyrkvaktmästaren sen med nyckeln så vi kunde gå in och titta i kyrkan. Den byggdes på 1200- eller 1300-talet på platsen för det som en gång troligen var en hednisk offerkälla. Väl kristnad blev källan känd för sin hälsobringande effekt. Genom åren har kyrkan genomgått stora förändringar och källan har ömsom varit fördömd och igenmurad, ömsom öppen så att människor kunnat dricka vattnet och därigenom bli friska (i alla fall enligt olika berättelser). Tack vare den unge kyrkvaktmästaren fick vi se själva källan som ligger i kyrkans sakristia. Efter besöket hittade vi geocachen som låg mitt ute i skogen rätt långt från kyrkan. Även den en kyrka.
Därefter fortsatte vi till ytterligare en geocache, som fanns på Sånga Mo, Västernorrlands beväringsbataljon under 50 år på 1800-talet. Pampigt monument och massor med mygg mötte oss där.
The geocaching trip continued. At Sånga church there should be a geocache. We got there after closing time but luckily the young churchwarden was late with the key so we could go in and have a look at the church. It was built in the 1300th or 1400th century at the site of what once upon a time probably was a pagan sacrificial well. After christening, the well became known for its health-promoting effects. Over the years, the church has undergone major changes, and the well has alternately been condemned and blocked up, alternately open so that people have been able to drink the water and thereby become healthy (at least according to different stories). Thanks to the young churchwarden, we got to see the well itself in the Church’s sacristy. After the visit we found the geocache in the middle of the woods quite far from the church. It, too, a church.
Then we proceeded to another geocache, which was at Sånga Mo, Västernorrlands Conscript Soldier Battalion for 50 years in the 19th century. Big-time monument and lots of mosquitoes met us there.

Alltemellanåt måste vi hitta en geocache, inte minst för att det får oss att röra lite på benen. Plus att vi får se ställen som vi väl aldrig hade tänkt på att titta på annars. Denna geocache-runda började på ett ställe som Sigge känner mycket väl till, hembygdsgården i Para (eller som han säger: Anton Sedins gård). Där har vi varit förut. Men sedan fortsatte vi till gamla skolan i Para och där hade inte ens Sigge varit tidigare. År 1987 utsågs den till Sveriges bästa skola av Aftonbladet. Tio år senare lades den ned och nu svävar en Tjernobyl-stämning över hela skolområdet. Tråkigt.
Every now and then we have to find a geocache, not least because it makes us move our bodies a little bit. Plus, we’ll see places that we would never have thought about visiting otherwise. This geocache round began in a place that Sigge knows very well at, the local folklore centre of Para (or as he says: Anton Sedin’s farm). We have been there before. But then we continued to the old school in Para and not even Sigge had been there before. In 1987, it was named Sweden’s best school by Aftonbladet. Ten years later, it was shut down and now a Chernobyl mood hovers over the school area. Sad.
