All denna svamp/All these mushrooms

Vi plockar svamp. Lite för mycket som framgått tidigare. Vad ska vi göra av allt? Vi torkar dem, men kommer troligen aldrig att kunna äta upp alla på egen hand. Våra barn får en del torkad svamp men vi har fortfarande väldigt mycket kvar. Bra att ha om det blir nödår…

We pick mushrooms. A little too much as stated earlier. What are we going to do with them all? We dry them, but will probably never be able to eat them all on our own. Our children get some dried mushrooms but we still have a lot left. Good to have if there is a year of famine…

Ytterligare en skörd, här orensad. *Another harvest, here uncleaned.*

Efter rensning torkar vi dem, och de ser inte så väldigt roliga ut. (Inte chilifrukterna heller, som också blir torkade. Sedan blir de chiliflarn.) *After cleaning, we dry them, and they do not look very fun. (Not the chilis either, which also get dried. Then they become chili flakes.)*

Mörka morgonpromenader/Dark morning walks

En av oss kliver upp i ottan och går till jobbet, som utförs i hemmet. Det är ett bra sätt att komma igång på morgonen, även om det är rätt mörkt numera och en del dagar riktigt dimmigt.

One of us gets up early and goes to work, which is performed at home. It’s a good way to get started in the morning, even if it’s pretty dark nowadays and some days really foggy.

Ny diskmaskin/New dishwasher

Vår inbyggda diskmaskin gav upp. Det är verkligen jätteroligt att hitta disken odiskad när man öppnar diskmaskinen. För att inte tala om hur det ser ut i köket tills vi köpt en ny diskmaskin. Det gjorde vi ganska omgående.

Our built-in dishwasher gave up. It’s really great fun to find the dishes unwashed when you open the dishwasher. Not to mention what it looks like in the kitchen until we bought a new dishwasher. We did that pretty promptly.

Gamla maskinen kvar, men snart borttagen. Flera dagars disk överallt. *Old machine still there, but soon removed. Several days of dishes everywhere.*

Boven i dramat. *The villain of the drama.*

Nya fina maskinen, inte inbyggd denna gång. Skyddsplasten är kvar. Sigge får jobba i en ergonomiskt korrekt arbetsställning… eller inte. *New nice machine, not built this time. The protective plastic remains. Sigge has to work in an ergonomically correct working position… or not.*

Liten hund på äventyr/Little dog on adventure

Dagbarnet Tycho ser till att vi kommer ut och promenerar även under veckorna. Han får uppleva en hel del saker som är nya och spännande för honom, till exempel stora vatten.

The daycare child Tycho makes sure that we get out and walk even during the weeks. He gets to experience a lot of things that are new and exciting to him, such as big waters.

Det är mycket som är spännande i en liten hunds liv. Stenar och sand och massor med vatten. *There is a lot that is exciting in a small dog’s life. Rocks and sand and lots of water.*

Lite för kallt för att bada. *A little too cold to swim.*

Svampjakten fortsätter/The mushroom hunt continues

Ibland blir vi lite maniska när det gäller svamp. Vi ger oss ut och plockar fast vi inte vet vad vi ska göra av all svamp. Barn och barnbarn får ta emot en hel del. Inte desto mindre gav vi oss iväg på en ny jakt, till ett gammalt välkänt ställe. Även där ett hygge sedan något år men det finns ändå en del att hämta där. Och utsikten är inte fel.

Sometimes we get a little manic when it comes to mushrooms. We go out and pick them even though we don’t know what to do with all the mushrooms. Children and grandchildren get to receive a lot. Nevertheless, we set off on a new hunt, to an old well-known place. There too is a clearing since a year or so but there is still a lot to pick there. And the view is not wrong.

Det går att stå ut med den utsikten. *You can stand that view.*

En chockartad upplevelse/A shocking experience

Vi tog en tripp till förra ¨årets bästa svampställe, i förhoppningen om att hitta lika mycket i år som i fjol. Det blev en chock att komma dit. Hela svampskogen var nerhuggen, inte en enda liten svampstackare gick att detektera i bråten. Men skam den som ger sig. Vi klättrade upp för berget och nådde några andra kända svampställen så dagen blev rätt lyckad ändå.

We took a trip to last year’s best mushroom place, in the hope of finding as much this year as last year. It was a shock to get there. The whole mushroom forest was cut down, not a single poor little mushroom could be detected in the rubble. But shame on the one who gives up. We climbed the mountain and reached some other wellknown mushroom places so the day was quite successful anyway.

Här växte det gigantiska trattkantareller förra året. *Giant funnel chanterelles grew here last year.*

Det var väldigt brant på sina ställen, men trots hög ålder fixade vi det. *It was very steep in places, but despite our advanced age we fixed it.*

Kvartsbrottet i Lugnvik/The quartz mine in Lugnvik

Vi har inte lyckats fixa ett enda vandringstips i år. Men nu när vi var i blåbärsskogen så passade vi på att besöka kvartsbrottet på Långtoberget, som var ett vandringstips och inte mer än några hundra meter att gå (inte mycket till vandring). Det var i alla fall en intressant plats, synd bara att det inte fanns mer information om vad som pågått där förr i tiden.

We haven’t managed to fix a single hiking tip this year. But now that we were in the blueberry forest, we took the opportunity to visit the quartz quarry on Mt. Långtoberget, which was a hiking tip and no more than a few hundred meters to walk (not much for hiking). In any case, it was an interesting place, just a pity that there was no more information about what was going on there in the past.

Inte någon särskilt stor gruva. Not a particularly large mine.

Vi var ju uppe på ett berg, så självklart fanns en utsikt att se. *We were up on a mountain, so of course there was a view to see.*

Nytt kylskåp/New refrigerator

Vår gamla kyl/frys blev trött och blött och var dessutom väldigt trångt. Så vi skaffade ett nytt kylskåp, utan frys (vi har två andra frysar) där grejorna får plats. Den gamla skänkte vi bort och intresset var faktiskt ganska stort, trots att alla dåliga sidor redovisades noga.

Our old fridge/freezer became tired and wet and was also very crowded. So we got a new fridge, without a freezer (we have two other freezers) where the stuff can fit. We gave away the old one and the interest was actually quite large, even though all the bad sides were carefully reported.

Goda grannen Per hjälpte till både med att bära och att ställa på plats. *Good neighbor Per helped with both carrying and putting in place.*

Och nu har vi plats, så mycket plats att det nästan ekar där inne. *And now we have space, so much space that it almost echoes in there.*

Ett riktigt åskväder/A real thunderstorm

Sent denna kväll i slutet av juli vaknade åskguden Tor till liv och skapade ett riktigt skådespel. Vi har platser på första parkett på vår altan.

Late this evening at the end of July, the thunder god Thor woke up to life and created a real spectacle. We have seats on the first floor on our terrace.

Höga Kusten Expo 2021/High Coast Expo 2021

På väg uppåt kusten stannade vi till vid Höga Kusten Expo i Ullånger. Vi har besökt det tidigare och där finns väldigt många fina saker att se och köpa. Vi köpte inget, men fick ändå med oss en sak hem.

On the way up the coast we stopped at Höga Kusten Expo in Ullånger. We have visited it before and there are very many nice things to see and buy. We did not buy anything, but still brought one thing home with us.
