Plötsligt tillbringade vi en natt i Östersund. Anledningen var att Lions internationelle högste ordförande Jitsuhiro Yamada med fru Toshiko var på besök där. Vi blev som Lions inbjudna att delta i middag med honom. Det var förmodligen första och sista gången vi kommer i närheten av en livslevande internationell president så vi passade på. Det blev en riktigt trevlig tillställning även om vi tyckte synd om paret Yamada som inte pratade just någon engelska och som var tvungna att sitta i princip isolerade från alla övriga vid honnörsbordet.
Suddenly, we spent one night in Östersund. The reason was that the Lions’s International Supreme Chairman Jitsuhiro Yamada and his wife, Toshiko was visiting there. We were invited as Lions to attend the dinner with him. It was probably the first and last time we will come close to a living international president, so we took the opportunity. It was a really nice event although we felt sorry for the Yamada couple who did not speak hardly any English and who had to sit virtually isolated from all others at the top table.
